Chris and Adrienne Scott, Photographers | Nashville Wedding & Portrait Photographers bio picture

well hello there.

Thanks for stopping by, we're glad you came!  We're Nashville portrait and wedding photographers, Chris & Adrienne Scott, a husband and wife photography team.  We live outside of Nashville, Tennessee with our Boston Terrier, Wilson.  Here are a few random facts about us:

- We met while in school at James Madison University, in Virginia
- We tied the knot on December 13, 2008 at Owen Chapel in Brentwood, TN
- We distinctly remember the wedding planning process and don't envy our wedding couples at all
- We were both band geeks in school, Adrienne on oboe and tuba, and Chris on trumpet
- Chris is a terrible dancer, but will make an attempt to bust a move at your reception anyway
- Adrienne talks in her sleep and will sometimes hold entire conversations
- We're both Navy brats although Adrienne spent most of her life in Northern Virginia while Chris has lived in Hawaii, the Philippines, California, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee
- In our free time we like to take Wilson to the dog park and go to the drive-in movies
- We love to laugh, and do so almost non-stop
- We absolutely love what we do and we take our jobs, but not ourselves, very seriously

Chris & Adrienne Scott, Photographers featured in Professional Photographer Magazine

One of our big goals for the year last year was to have our work published nationally in a wedding magazine or trade publication.  We were able to cross that goal off of the list in October of last year, when one of Amy Lynn & Mark’s Fall Creek Falls wedding photos was published in Professional Photographer Magazine, in an article about After Sessions. Having achieved that goal, we were thrilled to be interviewed a month or so ago for another article for Professional Photographer Magazine!

The article, “Life of the Party: 12 tips to break you out of the reception rut” can be found on pages 86-90 in the March issue of Professional Photographer and includes a couple of our images (one from the Schlessman’s Franklin, TN wedding, and another from the Beckwith’s Virginia Beach wedding photobooth) as well as a few of our insights on wedding reception photography.

The magazine, which is the official magazine of the Professional Photographers of America, goes out to over 50,000 professional photographers monthly and has an estimated readership of over 100,000 photographers monthly.  Needless to say, we’re stoked to be in it again!

If you want to check out the article, you can download it here, or come on over to our place, where it’ll be displayed next to October’s article.  =)

Oh, my apologies to anyone who thought that big news = baby.  You’re going to have to wait a while for that one (*fingers crossed*), so this news will have to be exciting enough for you until then!

Since no post is complete without some photos, here are the two images that ended up in the article…

Hope everyone’s having a great week!

Chris & Adrienne Scott, Photographers Featured on Budget Savvy Bride | Nashville Wedding Photographers

We were thrilled to see Jessie & Stefan’s Murfreesboro wedding featured on The Budget Savvy Bride blog a couple of days ago.  Follow the link for lots of photos, insight on Jessie’s inspiration, budget concerns and favorite moments from the day.

Here’s our favorite quote, for not-so-subtle reasons =)

Our biggest splurge was on the photography. I’m a picture fanatic because I’ve always felt that pictures can immediately bring back memories that put you right back in the moment — and I knew from the start that we’d have to have stellar wedding photographs. We worked with Chris and Adrienne Scott, Photographers and they were absolutely amazing. Chris and Adrienne are so easy to work with – just like having two more friends at your wedding. In addition to the traditional photography, they set up a photobooth at our reception, where our guests could jump in with a variety of props and signs and everyone had an absolute blast with it. The pictures from the day are incredible – they could be something out of a magazine. The splurge was worth every penny.

Thanks for stopping by!

We’re Still Alive | Nashville Portrait Photographers

So it’s been a couple of weeks since I posted something and I figured I should let you know what we’ve been up to!

Near the beginning of February, we photographed some headshots and casual photos for Justin.

Then we photographed some new album artwork for Sean McConnell.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day by photographing a couple of High School Seniors in East Tennessee.

Here’s Clayton:

And here’s Lacy:

Then a little more album artwork, this time for country artist Charlie Montague:

Then, on my way to a workshop in Northern Virginia, I stopped in East Tennessee again to photograph one of our absolute favorite families, the Curtis’s!

Here’s Avery, being absolutely adorable:

While I was in Virginia, Adrienne had Cohen and Brynn’s family over for an Image Premiere!

Here’s a page out of their baby album:

And that’s what we’ve been up to!  I learned a ton of new info at the workshop I attended and can’t wait to start putting it into practice!  Hope you enjoyed the little recap of what’s been going on for us lately, I’ll show you more photos as I get through them all!

Almost the weekend!

Don’t Miss CJ’s Off the Square’s Open House!

Mark the date off on your calendar, because Williamson County Weddings & Events and CJ’s Off the Square, in downtown Franklin, will be hosting an open house on February 27 (two weeks from today)!

This Open House will be a great opportunity for brides to check out WCWE’s 2010 Invitation Collection, sample some cake flavors by The Bake Shoppe, get a sneak peek of the nearly finished pavilion that will be opening at CJ’s in April, and meet some of the area’s best wedding vendors in a very casual environment.  You can register for the Open House by clicking on the Save the Date below!

Hope to see you all there!
