Chris and Adrienne Scott, Photographers | Nashville Wedding & Portrait Photographers bio picture

well hello there.

Thanks for stopping by, we're glad you came!  We're Nashville portrait and wedding photographers, Chris & Adrienne Scott, a husband and wife photography team.  We live outside of Nashville, Tennessee with our Boston Terrier, Wilson.  Here are a few random facts about us:

- We met while in school at James Madison University, in Virginia
- We tied the knot on December 13, 2008 at Owen Chapel in Brentwood, TN
- We distinctly remember the wedding planning process and don't envy our wedding couples at all
- We were both band geeks in school, Adrienne on oboe and tuba, and Chris on trumpet
- Chris is a terrible dancer, but will make an attempt to bust a move at your reception anyway
- Adrienne talks in her sleep and will sometimes hold entire conversations
- We're both Navy brats although Adrienne spent most of her life in Northern Virginia while Chris has lived in Hawaii, the Philippines, California, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee
- In our free time we like to take Wilson to the dog park and go to the drive-in movies
- We love to laugh, and do so almost non-stop
- We absolutely love what we do and we take our jobs, but not ourselves, very seriously

We [heart] Scarritt Bennett

Adrienne and I spent the day with Sarah and Rich yesterday, shooting their beautiful wedding at Scarritt Bennett center in downtown Nashville, one of our most favoritest locations in the city.

Haven’t done many work-related posts lately, so I threw a few more in for this post. Enjoy.

One of Adrienne’s shots during the ceremony. We love this place!
Sarah, looking stunning…
a ring shot on Sarah’s bouquet, which she designed herself…

… and another ring shot, sans bouquet…

the flowers, lookin’ all hot and swanky…

The Rory Partin Band was incredible!

… and so did the super-talented, ridiculously-fun, Jessica Rayborn, who came out to play with us yesterday!

here’s a shot of Rich, bringin’ sexy back.

and both Sarah and Rich, doing more of the same.

Adrienne and I will be in Vegas for the next 3 days, covering the American Institute of Forensic Education’s Forensic Trends conference on Psychiatric and Behavioral Issue… it’s gonna be so happy! =) Really, what this means is that we won’t be doing much blogging until Friday, as we’ll be super busy having fun working hard in Vegas.

Kickin’ it up a notch…

Lots of changes going on here lately since I got back from the Bebbinar. We’ve implemented a brand new studio management software solution (which, by the way, I apologize if you’re a client and got a bajillion emails from us… turns out I’m still learning to use the software… oops…) and will be leaving Pictage for a new personal online gallery company called PickPic. This will allow us to handle all of the order processing, printing (we can finally use WHCC for everything!) and delivery of all of our products… we’re stoked about this change, especially with some recent issues with Pictage. The client side will be a bit different, but it is still very intuitive and user-friendly… plus, you won’t get spammed anymore with Pictage emails… woot.

In addition, we’ll be changing over completely to Finao albums, which we just know you’re going to LOVE when you see them.

Lots of other little product changes and choices we’re going to offer, but I’ll post those individually, so as to give them the love and attention they deserve.

I just can’t get enough of…

Nate and Jaclyn’s work over at The Image is Found.

Check out this slideshow of them “working” and you’ll see what I mean… afterward, check out theblogisfound and get lost in the awesomeness. I promise you, hilarity will ensue.

Just wanted to put that out there for any photographers looking for inspiration, or non-photographers who just want to see amazing work and a fun-loving family. Haven’t met them yet, but I have all the respect in the world for these two.

Hasta la pasta,
chris.

I’d post a shot of theirs to link you to the site, but I don’t want all that bad karma… even with a link and a photo-credit, I’m pretty sure the copyright gods wouldn’t be pleased. And neither would Nate and Jaclyn, which would blow my scheme to become their best friend ever, and maybe be adopted by them.

In my Element…

I promise there will be some photo-related posts soon, I’m an editing fool right now.
To hold you over though, here’s a shot of the newest addition to the family. Bye-bye Jeep with 160,000 miles on it, helloooooo Element. Gotta love when it all comes together; found this at a GREAT price so I dropped everything and drove to Georgia yesterday to pick it up. Plenty of room for photo-equipment, great gas mileage, and it’s got an aux-jack for when I finally replace the swiped iPod. Score.

Ok, back to editing.

Wedding Planning

My friend and fellow wedding planner, Lisa, just sent me an email with this comic. Hopefully you can read it. Just in case…

Boss: 1st box- Helen, I’m transferring you to the temporary zombie division. 2nd box- You will be with other people who are planning weddings, raising babies, and divorcing.
Guy in white in 3rd box: She took my dog.
Lady in 3rd box: All the good places are booked.

It is so true. I’m pretty sure I had some students go back to their classrooms from my music room and say “She’s looking at dresses.” Keep in mind that they’ve been watching Fantasia and are actually doing something music-related with it afterwards.

Oh, and Wilson got neutered today. Unhappy camper!!!

And I bought 2 pairs of shoes. And yes, 27 Dresses was THAT bad.
