Robb and Marcia Soriano

Robb and Marcia Soriano
Location: Holy Family Catholic Church – Brentwood, TN
Reception: Cool Springs House
Catering: Monell’s
Florist: The Flower Pot
DJ: Nashville Audio Visual

Adrienne and I just got home from Robb and Marcia’s wedding in Brentwood. In keeping with the “this couple knows how to throw a party” theme, Marcia and Robb’s guests were some of the most dancinest people we’ve seen. Top that off with some really great toasts and a bunch of cute kids and you’ve got yourself a pretty darn good wedding. Here are a couple of shot from the day, hope you enjoy!

The flower girl was adorable! I think she’s trying to figure out what was going on up front. Awesome.

The kids were sure to be closest when the cake started getting passed out. Smart kids, it was great!

And a ring shot. Part of the monogram cake topper, which was very classy.

Marcia and Robb, thank you so much for having us out to be a part of your big day, have fun in Aruba!

Soooooo tired!

By the way… if you’re planning a wedding, or any event for that matter, and need a rockin’ DJ or some great food, you should definitely scroll back up and hit up Chris from Nashville Audio Visual and Michael from Monell’s, Adrienne and I LOVED working with these two and would recommend them ANY day.

Who’s this Mary Girl Anyway?

I’m hoping wedding-reception alcohol had something to do with this.

… I hope.

Back to editing, I just couldn’t sit on this one any longer, it’s making me laugh too hard.

The Man. The Myth. The Legend…

… the Canon 5D! =)

As promised, big photo news. Today, Adrienne inherited my Canon 40D because my brand spankin’ (like) new Canon 5D arrived!

Here’s me rockin’ out to it’s full-framed goodness, spot-on metering and amazing color depth.

Yes, I am well aware that I’m a dork. I accepted that fact years ago when I was in the marching band.

Can’t wait to go shoot! But for now, back to editing.

Downtown Nashville Artist Shoot

So happy with how things turned out from today’s shoot with Blake Kniffen that I’m posting an unprecedented bajillion of them. Maybe a few less. For your viewing pleasure… Ladies and gentlemen, Blake Kniffen.

(Click ‘em to make ‘em bigger, they’re much sexier that way.)

In downtown Nashville. Who knew it’d be so hard to find a decent alley?
In Evin’s studio in Franklin.
It’s artsy. It’s fartsy. It’s awesome.
another from the studio.
love the couch, the curtains, the crazy light coming in. sweet.
and one composite… why not. like his own personal Abbey Road.
I wasn’t going to post this one ’cause most people won’t care, but here’s the light setup for the studio shots. Five lights, lots going on. Check it out on Flickr for the run-down… sweet wrap-around lighting. Love it.

While I’m on the topic, I would have never imagined knowing how to handle light like this if I hadn’t come across strobist.com. If you’re trying to learn, David Hobby is the man to learn from. Check out the site and prepare to come out the other end a much better photographer.

Now I’m off to bed. Looooooooong day of editing and erranding tomorrow. Thanks so much to Evin for hooking me up with the studio space, and Zach for saving my butt at the last minute today.

my friends/peers rock.

Mr. and Mrs. Brewer!

Adrienne and I had so much fun shooting Kristen and Tom’s wedding today out in Cookeville, TN. Despite a little bit of uncooperative weather, we came away with some pretty cool images and got to experience the happenen-ist reception we’ve ever been to! Seriously, just about everyone at this wedding was out on the dance floor at some point or another, it was crazy!

I’ll post a few shots from the ultimate dance party once I’ve had a chance to go through them all… for now, here are a few to hold you over. Click on any of them for a larger size… they’re much happier that way.

Tom, and the groomsmen… and my hand and lens.

The always-beautiful Mrs. Kristen Brewer.

Just after “you may kiss your bride”. =)

The first dance.

And a ring shot.

Now that I think of it, I can FINALLY post some of Kristen’s Bridal portraits! Yessssss!

These are from a few weeks back, all taken at The Hermitage. The weathermen were calling for rain all day, but as you can see, weathermen are overpaid.

Alright. Too much fun for one day. I gotta get to bed, shooting all day tomorrow, too! Hope you likey. If you do, leave a comment, if not, keep your opinions to yourself ;-)

Over and out,
chris.
